“The place was amazing!”
“Awesome view of the hills and ocean from the house itself. Jack and Valeria were amazing with communication. They sent us a lot of tips on how to get there and also with anything we required. We would absolutely recommend this place.“
Amit

“I’ll definitely stay again!”
“I’ve rented this home several times, I love staying here when visiting the Sunshine Coast. Everyone commented on how clean the home was and we spent many hours staring at the stunning view. The house has everything we need and is in a convenient location to access nearby walking trails, a short walk to the water and a quick drive to town if you forgot anything.“
Marisa

“You won’t be disappointed!”
“A perfect solution for families friends or couples to come and enjoy a great location. Our 4 couples had their own bathrooms and it felt like we had ample space to move around without feeling cramped. Valeria is gracious and responsive to questions and to making suggestions to explore local areas. The kitchen living area made our dinners games nights and general socializing comfortable and easy with water and mountain views that were fantastic.“
Michael

“Absolutely gorgeous!“
“Lots of bedrooms, beds and full bathrooms for a large group. Giant deck facing the water, great area to hang out, sunbathe, watch the wildlife. Tons of light, very clean. Short drive to “downtown” Sechelt and Porpoise Bay Park. Valeria gave lots of great tips for places to see and things to do in the area, but the house was such a great place just to be in also! Clear detailed instructions for all the house features. Lots of nice little touches that were very appreciated“

Have a Question?
Policies & F.A.Q.
Check the Sunshine Coast website to find out what will be happening when you are here.
Here are some activities in the area recommended by our family. We hope you have the opportunity to check some of them out.
Skywatching
– Some nights are absolutely perfect for skywatching. We have had many opportunities to get the space station passing over. We always recommend bringing your own binoculars or telescope, if you have one. We don’t provide them anymore because ours have been broken too many times.
Parks & Beaches
– The Sandy Hook beaches are very beautiful and secluded. Please make sure to respect it, do not litter and enjoy the beauty of the area. You will find a map at the house with instructions on how to find them. Sandy Hook Park, walk to the beach just down the road 10 minutes walk to Sandy Hook Park. (you will find a map in the binder) Good for swimming with a picnic table and playground. It has a boat launch. Perfect for kayaking or canoeing.
– Tot Park, up to Skookumchuk Rd, just half a block from the house close to the mail boxes. (picnic tables and playground)
– Porpoise Bay Provincial Park (white sand beach, perfect for swimming, picnic, short hike, playground)
– Hidden Grove & Heritage Trail Park (lots of options of hikes from short/easy to long/hard. Beautiful trees)
– Tuwanek (beach more rocky but perfect to see “ sea creatures”, it is also good for fishing)
– Burnett Falls Park (easy hike and nice waterfall)
– Sechelt Waterfront (our family favourite walk in the afternoon). Open ocean beach, good for swimming.
Hiking
You will find all kinds of hiking trails in the area. Our favourite for sure is Hidden Grove
Here are some sites to help you to plan some hiking while visiting:

One of our family favourite places is Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park in Halfmoon Bay. Located about 30 minute drive from the house, north of Sechelt and is a beautiful area that offers scenic coastal views of the cove and shoreline along the Strait of Georgia. The hike is fairly easy with a few sections that ascend as you make your way up onto the rocks for views of the park. The views are absolutely stunning and it is a dog friendly park.
One of the most spectacular features of the British Columbia coast occurs at Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Marine Park. “Skookumchuck” is an old Native name meaning “strong waters.” It’s an easy to medium hike but at least one hour (4km) each way, plan for longer because you will be stopping on the way. Check the tide schedule.
Tide water is forced through the narrows and forms the Sechelt Rapids. The difference in water levels between one side of the rapids and the other sometimes exceeds 2 meters in height. Current speeds can exceed 30 km/hr. The rapids are famous for their spectacular whirlpools and whitewater. To reach the rapids, you walk on a 4km trail past Brown Lake and through a lush coastal forest. The trail is a well-developed bark mulch trail. There is a minimal elevation change and hiking time will be about one hour for most groups (easy walking).
There are directional signs and public bathrooms (dry toilets). There are three viewing points to enjoy the rapids – perfect spots for picnics.
